New Fish Report..and Fleet update.. 06/14/07
2007
—
As I stood in my backyard yesterday, cleaning up from the great boiling of the turkeys for Christmas, a Delta airlines' plane crossed overhead, and I took it as a sign, not quite an omen. I hope that you look forward to 2007 as much as we do. Reservations are coming in strong, as many people have decided to take advantage of our 2006 rate offer. Interest in our tournament has been strong, even though it is not until June 7th. As a way to get ourselves jazzed, and hopefully to assist you in the jazzing process as well,
THE 2007 CALENDAR IS UP AND RUNNING, BEFORE THE 1ST OF JANUARY. INTENSE EFFORTS BY SR. LARIS, AND INTENSE KIBUTZING BY MYSELF, HAVE RESULTED IN THIS NEW ON LINE WORK OF ART. PLEASE CLICK ON THE DANCING DORADO BELOW AND ENJOY

WORLD RECORD LISA, FISHERMEN'S FLEET'S FIRST, BUT NOT THE LAST
For the last month and a half those of you who are regular readers know that a school of very large mullet snapper have been attacking baits off the south east corner of Cerralvo. Last week we had one first after another. One of my customers had said that he caught a mullet snapper on a ladyfish tht he was trolling for Pargon. This was the first time that I had heard of this, we usually cannot get lisas to bite on anything but sardinia, and even then it must be presented with skill and accompanied by luck. The last couple of years as we have headed into summer the larger lisas could be tempted with green mackerel when they were around, but never ladyfish. Thinking this merely a curiousity, we filed it under things that won't happen again. Two days later Rolla Cornell, of Palmdale, a regular customer, and a real regular guy, was trolling a ladyfish in order to capture a big Dog, and lo and behold, a very large lisa enhaled said sabalo. After a 20 minute fight the almost toothless senior citizen of Lisadom (no not Cornell) was in the boat. At the beach, just as the knife was about to make fillets of the beast, Russell Adkins set about encourageing Cornell to take the fish back to La Paz and talk to the local IGFA rep about a potential world record. That rep being me, we set about weighing the fish and taking stock of the current record. Well, the fish that Cornell and Enrique boated weighted 45.8 pounds on a certified scale, smashing the standing record of 36 pounds. Cornell and I have filed the proper paperwork, and shortly he should be accorded a Pending Record. Then after a 90 day investigative period he will be notified of his fishes' status. We gathered all required paper, scale certs, line, pictures, etc. and the fish resides in the Los Arcos freezer, just in case. I don't think that there will be any questions, and Cornell should be the proud owner of a new IGFA All Tackle Class record for Mullet Snapper. This is my first World Record since becoming an IGFA rep, and to have it be Cornell, and a lisa of that size, has been a real thrill. Congrats to All!
